Result was "Excellent Because The Number Was Increased"

The result of class 12 examination is better than last year. According to the National Examination Board, the results have been good as the schools have given higher marks to the students in the short and internal examinations.

As a result of previous years, the students who brought GPA in the middle group were the most. According to the results published on Monday of this year, the number of students bringing above-average GPA is high. Last year, the number of students bringing 4 GPA was zero, but this year, more than 40 students got 4 GPA, according to the board.

The results of class 12 have improved after the students conducted the examination in the same school and tested the answer scripts there. According to the board officials, the result may have been better than last year as the teachers gave arbitrary marks even in the internal assessment of 20 percent integers.

Chairman of the board Chandra Mani Poudel said that the results were better than last year due to internal assessment, examination at home center and examination of answer scripts at school. "Even though the students have been able to study more this time than last year, the results may have improved," he said. In previous years, the exams held in Baisakh / Jeth this time were conducted only in November due to corona.

About 18,000 more regular students participated in the examination than the previous year (2076 BS). Comparing the results of two years, the number of students bringing higher level GPA is higher. The number of students bringing 3.6 to 4.0 GPA is 6,916 this time. Last year, only 3,067 people received the group's GPA. Out of 9 groups of GPA, only 52,000 students bring medium level GPA this time. Last year, 86,000 people received the GPA. The number of students bringing above-average GPA (2.4 to 2.8) is the highest at 1,09,312 this time. Last year, only 56,503 people had brought the GPA.

Last year, examinations were conducted in about 1,100 examination centers. This time, the examination was conducted in 4,105 centers across the country. The board has succeeded in making the results public within two months of the completion of the examination even after verifying the number in the state office of the board by testing the answer scripts in the school. Last year, the results were made public in two and a half months after the board examined the answer scripts at the provincial office and entered and verified at the center.

The examination of one student on the regular side has been canceled while the examination of 2,982 students on the side of grade promotion has been postponed. The examination of 2,188 candidates has been partially postponed. Covid was also affected by the uncertainties of the exams, including undergraduate admissions and tuition. The Board has conducted the examination by approving the examination procedure from the Council of Ministers. The board has stated that the educational certificate will be provided to the students who bring at least D grade in the theoretical side and at least C grade in the experimental side after 15 days. The results, to be published in July, have been delayed by six months. Universities have already started the admission process before the results of class 12 are made public.

"Schools should have given 2/4 marks more," said a board member. "Increasing 2/4 marks in all subjects has shown good overall results."

Last year, there were 16,204 people bringing their GPA from 3.2 to 3.6, but this time, 38,480 people got the GPA. Similarly, bringing GPA from 2.8 to 3.2 last year was only 31,062 while this time 76,841 people have brought the GPA. The staff of the board said that the increase in the number of students bringing good GPA is confirmed by the increase in the number of teachers.

Out of the total integers, the results of 40 percent intensive examination, 40 integers of class 11 and 20 percent internal assessment, the results of this year's class 12 have been made public. When the school was allowed to evaluate 100 percent in SEE, 9,391 students had brought 4 GPA. Controller of Examinations Krishna Prasad Sharma said that teachers like SEE were not allowed to misbehave as 40 percent marks were given on the basis of class 11. "The results are only a few percent better than last year

Yes, we had learned the lesson from SEE and kept 40 integers under our control, 'he said. This time, only the Board and Nepal Telecom's website, Telecom's SMS and IVR services will be able to know the results. It is said that the publication of results has not been given much priority as the board alone did not conduct the examination. In previous years, results could be viewed on various websites. There were 433,271 regular, grade enhanced and partial candidates. Many students had problems accessing those websites at the same time.

The examination of 6,320 regular students has been postponed. Sharma said that most of the students were postponed due to non-receipt of internal assessment marks from the school. The result was corrected during the entry and verification as some teachers gave more than integer and equal marks. The target was to publish the results by Shrwan  after the end of the exam on December 31. The board has stated that there has been a delay in entry and verification as there are more examination centers than last year.
